Hello! I don't have any pictures to post right now, buuut I am getting a new polished website together which will hopefully be up and running in about a month I'd say. I'm also working on a monthly poster for a Vice Magazine club night, have finished the artwork for the debut Panther and the Zoo EP, and have been doing a fair amount of drawing which I doubt I'll show anyone. The future seems to be full of ups and downs. Oh wait! I did a poster for the show below, didn't even mention that. Chaos, Thursday night, Cassette Num 9.

My fav Adele HuntHigs reviewed White Swan Black Swan in Real Groove magazine but they made a mistake and didn't print my artwork, they printed some black and red thing that looks like a photo. So if you read Real Groove that's not the art work. The album is in Real Groovy now though, I saw it there once. I've been sick and haven't done anything except try to get better but I'm not better but should still be ok to play records at the Brand New Math/Tommy Ill show on Friday which you should all come to. (a few posters down, Brad flipping bird) I think I'll play some Bryan Ferry, he makes me so happy. He's so dashing. I'm going to try and finish watching King Kong now, it's so long, and the monkey isn't even climbing a building yet, it's just been fighting dinosaurs and stuff. I did enjoy the giant wetas, wetas are on my favourite animal list.

Morrissey is hands down the most hilarious man in the business. This song was included on his latest best-of collection, and is part of a 7 inch/cd single set which was on sale for one week only at the start of June. This is his 'needless to say, I had the last laugh' attack one all those who criticize, and has incredible lyrics including this verse: ' I was a small, fat child in a council house, there was only one thing I ever dreamed about. And fate has just handed it to me - whoopee'. And man, wait till you hear the Dave Bowie cover. Glorious. Also, I strongly suggest you hunt down the artwork. I love the Germs so much. I saw a t-shirt on ebay the other day but it was a ridiculous colour. I love how interesting, intelligent and informed Darby Crash's lyrics are, yet he sings in such a way where one cannot make out a flamin' word he says. Just buy the complete germs compilation, it's totally essential I'd say (and it has the lyrics).

Santogold & Diplo- Top Ranking
Album out now on Mad Decent

This is Diplo's latest mix-tape release featuring Santogold, I first came across this when I heard their fantastic cover of the Clash's 'Guns Of Brixton' with 'Brixton' replaced with 'Brooklyn'. The mix features a number of remixed Santogold songs from her debut album as well as snippets of Desmond Dekker, Devo, The B52s, The Dixie Cups, there is even a Black Flag sample in there from the song 'Six Pack'. A whole heap of my favourite bands. It's a great eclectic mix of songs, and flows really well, but the main reason I like it is I just found out Diplo is short for Diplodocous, and I love dinosaurs.

Fluffy & The Puppets are a twee indie band from Italy, feat. one Italian on vocals (Ambrogio da Pontedra) backed by a Scottish couple, Declan & Eleanor Mackenzie. This is my favourite song on the new album, (out now on vinyl and cassette only on MDC records), although I also love 'Muso Jazzo', 'The Band That Changed My Life' and 'G.C.W.C.B' (the acronym is not translated). I usually despise twee, indie-windy cardigan beard music, but this trio are just so earnest and intense, it's hard to not take them seriously.

I did the illustration for Auckland band 'White Swan Black Swan' and got a copy yesterday, looks pretty good. The whole things folds out into a long picture, I did it all on one long piece of paper. Well, two long pieces of paper. Not sure when this'll be in shops, pretty soon I'd imagine, on Arch Hill Records. Apart from this, I've just recently finished a 7'' sleeve for Brand New Math and some commissions but I am kind of in an art rut where I just write down ideas but never do them and watch tv instead. Yuck.

I have finished the installation for Tatty's, it looks amazing. I'll pop in and take photos of all the latest stuff I've done there in the last couple of weeks when it's up.
I have a lot of time on my hands, today I am learning how to make soup! So far it is going well, I've sweated the vegetables and now it's boiling for 20mins then I add the remaining stock.

So my favourite shop, Tatty's, on Ponsonby Road, has been expanded and now there is a new room out the back with a beautiful swirly floor and sweet graf art on the back fence you can see, with cool lettering and fruity colours. It's my show opening tomorrow! Important fact- the gallery will be open all day Tues from 11am, so you can rush in and buy everything and then attend the opening from 5.30pm. The hours are 11.00 - 7.00 every Tuesday, 10.00 - 5.00 Monday to Friday, 10 - 3 Saturday and Sunday. The work should all be up by now, it's going to be good I think.
Many small paintings in watercolour and gouache, and 5 large oil paintings, much like my exhibition last year. Jo Galvin is documenting the evening so I'll put photos from the opening up later in the week!

I did this full page ad for tatty's which appears in this quarters fashion quarterly, the colours are very different to the original but apparently that's what happens when one doesn't use a computer. Check it out! You can also find out what you're supposed to be wearing in each city in New Zealand, if you're short and wide in Wellington, bummer. Because they don't 'do' high heels.

The last few weeks have partially been spent doing drawings to go inside all the Robert Harris cafes around New Zealand. I haven't got examples of all the various drawings and poems yet, I'm not sure if they've all been changed or not, but here is one example in one of the Christchurch cafes.

Emily-Rose painting for her mum's birthday, did this ages ago but couldn't put it online until it had been given.

These two paintings will be in my show which is in a week, and coming along nicely. Just got a few more things to sort out and a few more hours of procrastination to achieve, which should be a breeze. Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep.
OH also I did the album artwork for Auckland band White Swan Black Swan, it looks really good, I'll post pics when I can.

So I have a solo show opening on April 22nd at 5.30-7pm. It runs until May the 4th (Nick's birthday) and is at Satellite Gallery. Corner St Benedicts St and Newton Rd, Newton. Everyone is invited, everyone. I couldn't decide on which image to use on the flyer so I made two.
I think you'll find the work in it will be the best I've ever done, the best thing is that I am still not even close to being finished all of it so it'll even be a surprise to me.

These paintings were for the 'Multiples' show in Hamilton a few weeks back, I thought I'd do something a bit different than a print which was my original idea, so I painted four similar looking works using the same colours but each one was a wee bit different.

My dear friend Adam bought all these paintings so they are gone now.

New Friends Exhibition

exhibition features 15 artists from around Hamilton and New Zealand.
Each artist has made a series of four works, which can be sold

I will be selling the new tshirt designs, but the old ones are still for sale if you prefer them. I am only taking orders this time, but I promise if you order from me today your shirt will be sent out to you before Christmas. They make great presents. That is what my family are all getting, anyway. I am doing a craftwerk special where the shirts are $40 instead of $50! There's someone under the ice! This is a picture of a tank I drew from a photo I took in the country when I went to the country. Also, I had a tooth pulled out on Friday and I wasn't going to write about that on here but I just want everyone to know I am being very brave because the hole where it once went is still very sore. It was poisoning my body, that's what you get when it has been hurting for maybeaboutayear so no ones fault really but my own. I should listen to my mamamamamamamama more huh.
Also thank you Shelley for putting this pic together on photoshop as my computer skills leave a lot to be desired.

I think the wireless on my laptop is broken, hence the lack of updating. Or it hates me. Probably the latter. Man alive I hate computers sometimes. Next week I will do a massive update with new drawings and some photos- saw the mint chicks last night at a club night thing in China town so will put some of them up. Got lots of work coming up which is exciting.
AND my Aunt kindly bought me a watercolour moleskine, they have quite an interesting layout to them- really narrow and long, good for drawing trees and tall buildings. And... rocketships. So LOOK OUT FOR THAT.
